All aboard for a trip across the Mediterranean, which straddles the very edge of the West and the tip of the Middle East. Lebanon’s location has made the country a genuine melting pot and its long history is proof of the diverse influences which have seen civilisations brought together since Mesopotamia. Boasting seas and mountains, coasts full of fish and abundant soil, all of which bathe in the sun’s powerful rays, Lebanon is a land of incredible riches. It’s therefore no surprise that its cuisine is a clever combination of different geographic influences, reflecting the country’s roots. At the Aïnata restaurant, Sébastien Vauxion and Pieter Riedijk have combined their signature styles and that of Le K2 Collections to create a menu with Alan Geaam, the iconic Michelin-starred chef who is renowned for his Lebanese cuisine. In the evenings, Aïnata takes diners on a motionless yet intimate journey, during which these chefs explore their own vision of Lebanon. Traditional cooking, often the work of women who are inspired by fresh ingredients and common sense, is transformed into exclusive dishes in which vegetables and spices are the harbingers of flavour. It’s a wonderful experience, designed to be shared in the luxurious surroundings of Le K2 Altitude.

Base Kamp by Aïnata, on Le K2 Altitude’s terrace which overlooks the Sommet de la Saulire, serves traditional sharing dishes for lunch, featuring some of the greatest Lebanese classics. Baba ghanoush, falafel, hummus and kefta: Lebanese cuisine is bound to impress foodies who are keen to embark on a culinary adventure, all without taking their ski boots off! Enjoy a day’s skiing in Courchevel and savour the exotic flavours of this international cuisine.
